Today was a rest day, meaning we stayed at the same place for two nights and explored our surroundings by bike and foot, but without luggage. Felt very strange to have such a light bike. It's also the first time I am staying somewhere for two nights in a row. Feels nice to have a slow down.
As it is also Lur's birthday today, we had a celebratory breakfast in town. Then we went to the point where Kattegat (Baltic Sea) and Skagerrak (North Sea) meet. It's a cool spot, as the waves from the two different directions are very visibly crashing into each other. It is also definitely the most crowded spot we've seen since we left Copenhagen.
We even saw some seals playing in the water :) After that we continued walking along the less crowded North Sea west coast with some wind.
For early dinner we went to a fish restaurant back to the harbour of Skagen. It was delicious and very filling! Sunset was then at the old town of Skagen on the west coast. Got quite cold there, so that we now have some nice warm tea to warm up again.
Hello girls! Congratulations on reaching Skagen!!
ReplyDeleteHopefully with that done, gear and stomach issues solved, thesis finished and birthdays celebrated, you can relax a little bit more on the way back south :)
Enjoy the rest of the trip and take some pictures!
Cheers!
Thank you Fausto! We'll try to take it easy during the last days :)
DeleteSuch a beautiful shore! I wish Lur a belated happy birthday! Enjoy the rest of the trip for all of you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ferdi! Now we go a little bit along the west coast and then head south.
