I got to speak Finnish today in a Swedish campground. When I was done with my porridge for breakfast and was just cleaning up, I had left my current trash bag on the table to take with the second go. It was an "Aakkoset" sweets bags that we still had bought together in Finland. And based on that a woman who just arrived there started speaking Finnish to me. I was completely surprised, but responded, and then she was really nice and interested about the bike trip and we had a little chat. Then she also revealed how she knew I came from Finland :D Now the trash bag is in the trash though, so the only thing to reveal might be my shirts.
I haven't taken too many pictures today, as the countryside views now repeat themselves. Here are a few views.
I went to a (maybe the only?) restaurant on the way and had a traditional Västrabottenspaj, a pie filled with cheese and topped with onions, cream, and fish rogue. Was delicious! There I also met the second interesting person on my way today: A guy doing a similar bike packing trip. He started in Karlskrona, which I will also pass una few days, and wanted to go to Stockholm, so basically the way I came. We exchanged some tips for the opposite directions. It was fun to see someone doing a similar trip. I see only few others with a similar amount of luggage on the way, most other cyclists have racing bikes.
I stopped before Västervik in a national reserve area and still did some work tonight.
:) nice wheat picture!
ReplyDeleteCurious, how are you managing to work there? Or it is just occasionally :) Luiza
Thanks Luiza! :) Indeed work is/was just occasionally. I just take the time, when needed and the internet connection has been really good in Sweden most of the time.
