Swedish countryside

Nyköping - Mem 82.02 km

A dry morning, beautiful beach, and breakfast in the camp kitchen started my day :)

Good morning!

Then I did some Nyköping sightseeing. It didn't take too long though, because it's a small city and on Sunday most of the shops were closed.

Nyköping

Market Square.

After Nyköping there was a long stretch of nothing, meaning countryside and sand roads, fields and flowers. I listened to an audiobook and went and went, was a good flow. Then some lunch (good that I stocked up in Nyköping) and after that I went along another set of countryside roads to reach another ferry.

On the way to the ferry, just out of the inland and back to the water.

Ferry crossing.

The last part of the day I saw the shortest name of a village: Å.

Å.

Now I'm a few kms before Söderköping in Mem at a beautiful spot on the water. Here they can lift the boats up to the channel.

On the higher level of the channel.

Dinner and sunset.

The Sweds have been very friendly so far. I think I got some curious views in the city today. Sometimes people are interested and ask what I'm up to. Yesterday I got a refill tea for free, today I get to camp here for free... I feel spoiled, but it's also nice :)

After this long day I'm happy to get to sleep now. Good night!

  2. Wow Anja a long trip today. Super! And with friendly Swedish-thats nice. Our bike tour is along the water from the Weser; but we can‘t go swimming. It‘s to dirty and dangerous flow. But we have a lot of nice spot‘s along the way. :))
Continue have fun and friendly Swedish people.

  4. That is so nice from them :) Curious if you needed to speak swedish there at least once far away from the big cities?

    1. Yes, I got these nice little gestures here and there. They all spoke English very well, so no need for Swedish, although I learned a few words on the way
